In 2006 Sylvia left the Netherlands to start her life in Mongolia. About half a year later Aphrezo also came to Mongolia to live there. The two of us met at "Friend's" Language School and soon became friends, very good friends. On 22 December 2008 we got married in Nagaland and on 13 August 2011 we were blessed with a beautiful son called Reuben. On this blog we share about our life in Mongolia.

Don't put off until tomorrow what can be done today
Fortunately our building manager,Degii, already warned us last week that soon we would not have hot water for one month. So when I tried the hot water tap last night and no water came....I wasn't too surprised.
It takes a little getting used to this situation. Boiling water when we want to do the dishes...boiling water when we want to clean the house...boiling water when we want to take a shower...or make a bath for Reuben which he loves so much. But, at least we still have water. There are times here that we don't have any water at all, try to flush the toilet then!
Next week people from our homechurch in the Netherlands will come to visit us and as it looks like now they won't have hot water. Well, this is Mongolia, these things happen here.
For the last few days I have started to see the saying 'don't put off until tomorrow what can be done today' in a new light.
-Don't decide to have a shower tomorrow because you are too tired now...you might wake up with only cold water.
-Don't postpone doing your laundry till tomorrow...you might not have power the next day.
-Don't leave the chicken breast in the shop when you need it the following day...it might be sold out by then.
This is the first entry on our new blog. We will try to write here regularly and so keep you up to date of our life in Mongolia. For now it is only in English, but if there would be people who would prefer it in Dutch to, please let us know.E
